263 - RENO: 911!: MIAMI

It’s time to take a trip back to the mid-noughties and one of those TV-show-movie-spin-offs that is full of big cameos, big laughs, and weirdly unknown beyond those that are aware of the original show, or the Quibi reboot from 2020. It’s the first in-person recording since March 2020, and Andrew has made Johnny a red velvet cake, they taste it on-air! Johnny rates the Venom Burger from a promo event, whilst Andrew demonstrates a pitch-perfect Kristen Stewart As Princess Diana impression.

FAST FRIDAYS - EPISODE 09 - FAST AND FURIOUS PRESENTS: HOBBS AND SHAW (WITH SARAH O'CONNELL)

The Fast Saga is continuing in two strands, you can now enjoy F9 in the cinema, but this podcast is reuniting two titans, Andrew and Johnny, to deal with one last mission: Talking spin-offs. How many pages of notes can be written on this adventure? Who gets the best insults? Will special guest Sarah delve into the madness of the family timeline, or will sense finally prevail? Nothing will be revealed!

FAST FRIDAYS - EPISODE 08 - THE F8 OF THE FURIOUS (WITH KATIE SMITH-WONG)

It’s time to split the family up, as the Fate turns Dom against Letty, Roman, Tej, Hobbs, Ramsey and DECKARD SHAW?!? Yup, bad guys is family now. Joining us is film writer Katie Smith-Wong to unpack a film full of submarines, zombie cars and TWO Academy Award winning actresses, yet no Corona in sight.

FAST FRIDAYS - EPISODE 07 - FURIOUS 7 (WITH IAN LORING)

A mega-sode dealing with the epic events of Dom, Brian, Roman, Tej, Letty, Mia, Ramsey, Mr. nobody and Han’s threat from the Shaw family’s older brother, Jason Statham. Film Basterds podcast host Ian Loring tangents the discussion with pivoting race-start women, was Roman of any use in Fast 5, and we all finally dig deep into the TIMELINE OF THE FRANCHISE properly.

We also tackle the Fast And Furious Supercharged Universal Studios ride/experience, which happens sometime between Furious 6 and… Furious 6?

FAST FRIDAYS - EPISODE 06 - FURIOUS 6 (WITH JOE CUNNINGHAM)

London Calling for the Family on the exciting crew-versus-crew showdown blockbuster, and we’re joined with Furious 6 ultra-fan Joe Cunningham (Cinematic Universe podcast) to drive the extended runway of plot beats, Rock/Vin feuding, LA-based detours and which characters get less to deal with in the long run. Grab a corona once again and put pedal to the metal for this final Chris Morgan/Justin Lin family action movie.

FAST FRIDAYS - EPISODE 05 - FAST FIVE (WITH BRADLEY PORTER)

We welcome a new member of the family with filmmaker Bradley Porter, who kindly actually drives during a conversation on the epic Avengers-style Fast And Furious Family Team-Up movie, whilst discussing Netflix’s creative control problems and how many punches it takes for Vin Diesel to smash Dwayne Johnson through a wall.

This is when the franchise goes from Mission: Impossible to Mission: In-Freaking-Sanity

FAST FRIDAYS - EPISODE 03 - THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS: TOKYO DRIFT

Justin Lin and Chris Morgan are joining the family, and it’s an all-Han experience, Sung Kang’s stunning floppy hair, movie star aura and thrilling stunt work. Handling the technology of 2006 that technically is in 2015 when Furious 7 came out becomes quite confusing, but it’s easier than comprehending the career of Lucas Black, definite teenager. Drift through this installment and laugh with your favourite family.

FAST FRIDAYS - EPISODE 0.0 - LET'S TRY THIS AGAIN

Almost a year ago we started a journey that did not go far, in fact the only released episode before the collapse of the world was a prologue to inform listeners of the journey. Like some Sisyphian podcasters, we’re pushing the boulder back up the hill this year and intend to cover all 9 Fast & Furious features released, once a week, in the build-up to F9: The Fast Saga, but this time there’s some new twists, and more understanding on the link between Dom’s Coronas and the horrendous nightmare year of pandemic that has taken so much from so many. COMEDY SHOW! Well, strap in, we’re doing this until Universal delay the film again.

233 - BE COOL

It’s the sequel to Get Shorty and we’re in a post-Snyder Cut world, what could go wrong? We love music, we love cinema, one of us loves the last time Travolta and Thurman danced together, this should be a lay-up.

Why does the return of Chili Palmer not work, and how much Aerosmith is allowed before things stop being cool? It’s a rough watch, and we try to make the most of it.

224 - SOUTHLAND TALES - THE CANNES CUT

Here we go, the one everyone’s been demanding. Andrew discovered that Universal has had the Cannes Cut of the iconic sci-fi apocalypse comedy satire on iTunes for a while, and as the Arrow blu ray release comes closer, it’s time to show Johnny not only Southland Tales, but the 160 minute thicker version, with less exposition and more comic asides. Johnny is not on board, but Andrew’s new twin Aaron seems happy with the situation, and offers an option to make the world end.

086 - DOOM

We end video game month with a film even Dwayne Johnson hates, so naturally we all pretend to enjoy it for a second before admitting this whole month has been just the worst. Welcome to hell.
